Buckingham's Award Winning Hotel has many individual period features. Originally a pair of Victorian semi-detached houses that have been sympathetically converted over the past few years into this smart, comfortable and relaxed hotel in Newbold, a residential area of Chesterfield, Derbyshire
Nick and Tina Buckingham with their three children Vicci, Emma and William are well known for their warm and friendly hotel, which specialises in superlative food. The hotel’s modern facilities are combined with an attention to detail and quality of service.
Afternoon Tea is served in the lounge from 2.00pm until 5.00pm. Afternoon Tea includes Derbyshire scones, whipped cream, homemade jam and a pot of tea. The price is £8.50 per person, please contact reception to make a reservation
In the bedroom there is a clock radio with a radio alarm (press the alarm set button to check time of alarm to adjust the time press the fast or slow button until the required time. Then press the alarm button situated on the side of the alarm clock to set alarm). The telephone can also be used as an alarm call (dial 133 enter by the time e.g. 0730).
Banks and Building Societies are situated in Chesterfield Town Centre. The nearest cash machine is at Tesco Petrol Station on Newbold Road, Chesterfield. Please note that Buckingham's does not offer cash back due to the charges.
The bar opens at midday and closes at 11.00pm. We serve a wide range of lagers, beers, wines and non-alcoholic drinks. Sometimes it is necessary to reserve the bar for private functions in these instances drinks can be served in the lounge. We do not allow alcoholic drinks in the hotel that have not been purchased from us, if you insist a corkage charge will be levied.
In the en suite bathroom there are toiletries, towels and bathrobes for your use while staying at Buckingham's. When using the shower, please ensure that the shower curtain remains inside the bath and if you require a safety mat, please contact reception. Please do not remove the towels from the hotel
Recent refurbishment of our bedrooms was to increase space and quality of each bedroom. Some bedrooms are designated superior these are particularly spacious and include their own seating area. Each Bedroom boasts many facilities

Breakfast is served Monday to Saturday from 7.30 am until 11.00am and Sunday from 9.00am until 10.30am. There are limited parking spaces in front of the hotel, if all spaces are occupied then there is no time restrictions imposed on vehicles parked on the side street next to the hotel. Please do not park on the front of the church, as this is there private parking. Buckingham’s cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss to any vehicles. If you would like a rent a car while staying at Buckingham's that can be organised for you, please contact reception.
Guest’s bedrooms are available to check in from 2.00pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 11.00am on the morning of departure. If you would like you bedroom before or after these time, this can be arrange at a charge of £5.00 per hour, please contact reception

Children are more than welcome at Buckingham's. A surcharge is levied if the child is aged between one and eleven and if a child is aged twelve or over they are charged as an adult. Under no circumstances should children be left unsupervised in the hotel. Children’s meals, cot and highchair are available on request, please contact reception.
The service of Buckingham’s is greatly influenced by the opinions of its guests, so please give us your views by completing our questionnaires in your bedroom.
There are hot drinks making facilities in your bedroom, if you require fresh milk or more sachets please contact reception. We have complimentary bottles of still and sparkling water; which are available from the bar.

Buckingham’s is very unique; the concept of having no menus is very exciting. We offer all our guests truly superlative food in the form of a surprise menu, whatever your taste in food we can accommodate. It means we can prepare your meal to your personal requirements with the emprises on quality and freshness. All we need to know is your dislikes, allergies or dietary requirement, be it low fat, wheat intolerance, vegetarian, diabetic or you just don’t like mushrooms .Whatever your dietary requirements are, we will be able to produce a meal of quality just for you. Buckingham's can arrange for a dry cleaning service. This is not an in house service so notice is required
In the bedrooms there are DVD players and DVD’s can be hired whilst staying in the hotel, please contact reception for the list of DVD’s, the price is £2.50.
When using hair straightens, tongs etc can you not put them on the furniture or carpets when they are hot. We also ask if you would turn off all lights and television when leaving the room for safety and environment reasons.
For all guests’ security the main door is kept locked, for entering press the telephone entry system located on the right hand side for entry to the hotel. Late entry is available until two o’clock in the morning (please inform reception if you are going to be in after midnight) Please note that your bedroom key does not open the front door, so on exiting the hotel keys must be handed to reception
In emergencies please ring 0 and someone will be able to assist you, but in extreme circumstances the emergency services can be contacted directly by dialling (9) 999 from any telephone in the hotel.
The emergency lighting in the hotel is left on throughout the day and night.

Buckingham's has a corporate rate with Cannons. The price is £7.00 per person (payable to Buckingham's); please contact reception as you will need a pass. Please do not use the hotel towels if you require a towel please contact reception
Buckingham's holds a current Fire Certificate and is equipped with smoke and heat detector equipment. Please read the fire instructions in the bedrooms which is located near the bedroom door and also to familiarise yourself with the location of the fire escapes. If you discover a fire please activate the fire alarm, or on hearing the siren please follow the evacuation procedures.

In the bedrooms the heating is thermostatically controlled. Please turn the knob at the side of radiator to alter setting. The setting are 1 is low and 6 is high
Master Chef Nick Buckingham has opened his very own shop. The selections of produces the Kitchen Door Shop sells is homemade breads, preserves, chocolates, sausage, bacon, black pudding, wine, champagne, cheeses, coffee and tea. Please see the list of products in this folder and be aware that some products need to be order in so we ask for twenty four hours notice
Please will guests not take the key off the wooden pear! The bedroom key does not open the front door, so on exiting the hotel keys must be handed to reception, this is for security reasons.
Explore the magnificent Derbyshire Peak District or the interesting and diverse attractions in the local area. Although a holiday destination, we are also only fifteen minutes from England's 4th largest city of Sheffield, and minutes away from Chesterfield’s thriving industrial parks. As you will see we are at the centre for many varied businesses and commercial organisations. M1, J29 is only five miles away whilst the local bus and train stations are within a few minutes of our door. Chesterfield town centre is five minutes walk away; here you can find the famous Crooked Spire of its parish church. Chesterfield is also home to one of the largest open-air markets in the country. You can browse around more than 200 stalls every Monday, Friday and Saturday all
year round, whilst on Thursday you can rummage in the popular flea market. For the professional shopper there is always the Meadowhall complex, Chesterfield is situated on the edge of the Peak National Park with some of the most spectacular and beautiful scenery in England. The hotel offers an in house laundry service; the prices include washing and ironing of the item, Please fill in the laundry service form place your items in the bag and bring down to reception. Laundry received before 9.00am will be returned the same day. The management can’t accept responsibility for any damage incurred and reserve the right to refuse any item it feels unsuitable. Ironing of item is £1.50. Buckingham's policy is that irons are not permitted in the bedrooms for health and safety reasons. Please contact reception if you would like this service

Incoming mail arrives about midday and will be kept safe until collected, a key fob will be attached to your key to let you know that you have received mail. Outgoing mail should be handed to reception, stamps are available to buy.
Should you receive any messages and not be available, the message will be left at reception; a key fob will be attached to your key to let you know that you have received a message
The bedrooms now have mini bars in the room, where you can find a selection of drinks available, the price is £2.50 each. We trust that guests will inform reception if they have consumed any of the drinks from the mini bar on the day of departure. Please do not switch the mini fridge off.
If you would like a newspaper in the morning, Please contact reception before retiring for the night, the price is £1.50 per daily newspaper.
Reception closes at midnight after that a night manager can be contacted by dialling 0 on your telephone. An entry phone at the front door can admit late arrivals.
Non residents are allowed in the bedrooms by prior arrangement, but must vacate the hotel by midnight this is due to hotel security.

It would be greatly appreciated if guests would settle their accounts by 11.00am on the morning of departure. Guests wishing to depart prior to 7.30am should settle the previous evening. Accounts may be settled by order of preference either by Cash, Cheque (with a valid banker’s card) Debit Card (Maestro, and Visa Debit) Credit Card with a 3% charge (Visa. MasterCard and American Express) or by account with prior arrangement.

Pets are allowed in Buckingham's subject to management discursion. They are only allowed in the guest bedroom and any damage will result in a charge being made. Unfortunately dogs will not be allowed in public area with the exception of guide dogs.
The receptionist is on duty from 7.00am until midnight, they can be contacted by dialing 0. The reception desk is situated near the front door. If the reception is not occupied and require service please dial 0 from the telephone near the reception

When a Master Chef decides to open a restaurant with just one table, you might conclude that the vino finally got to him! This totally new concept has been conceived out of frustration and a desire to develop food that does not conform to the normal paradigms. Where there will be no compromise on quality, ingredients or taste, and where excellence comes as standard. The table will seat up to eight guests, and can be booked in two ways: An exclusive table for you and your guests or an open table to dine with fellow guests and make new friends. After consultation with you, we will create a meal that will be unique to you and your party of guests. Some may wish to know in advance, but I think it is better to be a complete surprise! The best meals are the ones I create on the night, making the most of the Derbyshire's market.

Please use the staircase adjacent to the bar and lounge and not the staircase near bedroom number eight because of health and safety reasons except of course if an emergency arises.
Takeaway food is not permitted in the bedrooms. A charge will be made if take away food is found in the bedroom. You may bring a takeaway into the hotel and eat it in the Newbold Dining Room

The television is remote controlled with tele-text and have all the basic channels.
